Mate this is factually incorrect and I can confirm that having spoken to his old man Paul about this last year he confirmed that after the round 0 game against Sydneu he pulled up incredibly sore on the Friday morning after the match. By that afternoon he couldn't barely put any weight on it and was fairly bruised up as well. Club put him on a off legs program for a few weeks to try and relieve the tension but everytime he'd try and push through it aggravate further. Leading up to round 0 the club and charlie were managing it well but after the Sydney game, it had a significant impact on his Achilles and from that he simply couldn't recover which resulted in surgery. There is no tip toeing around it, playing against Sydney had a significant impact on his achillies injury.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025

Can someone actually confirm this actually happened? I can not find this information anywhere and the fact that someone with previous debilitating ankle issues can play two weeks after ankle surgery is bizarre in itself. The standard recovery process for a simple ankle cleanout is around 4-6 weeks and for some reason i just can't recall this actually happening?- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025

I can only speak from my perspective and taking into account i also know the parents and siblings of Charlie Spargo and Daniel Turner very well and have for many years. Being a country regional area you either bump into them at the local footy, work dealings, night life, or one way or another you're connected to a heap of mates that also know them well. So as much as I live away from the footy heartland of Melbourne I still get to hear some very interesting stuff that goes on behind the scenes at the footy club with most info i would not dare to share on here. From a family player family perspective, they have nothing but admiration for the club in the way they are able to support their boys whilst being away from home. The club have not only treated the boys incredibly well but also the extended families whenever they get a chance to head down the highway on a weekend to watch their sons. From Oliver's perspective, when [censored] hit the fan at the back end of 2023 the Oliver family did not once put any blame or finger pointed the club. A number of off field activities/matters were just a number of combinations why his life unravelled. They were incredibly grateful for the club support as they themselves were travelling down to Melbourne most weekends just to be with Oliver. It was a pretty scary time for the family/footy club to be honest. What was reported to the media at the time was nothing compared to what was actually happening behind the scenes and that's as far as I go. Last year's trade call shock was more just the family feeling blindsided. Family are fine now and Oliver is in a good head space as you are all aware. Though, he's not the finished product yet, he's certainly making up good ground.- SSP contenders

Freo signing Dudley reeks of complete desperation by them. If they're desperate, then they can cough up two early first round picks as a starting point.- SSP contenders
Worth noting that Jai Culley had no pre season this time last year as he was coming back from an ACL injury. I believe he's been able to do every session so far?- SSP contenders
I've been Roy George all the way but I take into account what the regular track watchers have been observing, and that is majority support Jai Culley as the one who has impressed the most. If that's the case then I'm happy with him as a replacement.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025

I know his folks well from junior days. Bump into them all the time up here especially his old man through work every now and then. After the trade period the club had a meeting with his family and manager just to reassure them especially after the whole trade saga thing went down where his family were understandably quite disappointed with the club when news broke out. One of the things the footy club did acknowledge was their mismanagement of Oliver in terms of rushing him back into AFL level. If they had their time again they would have put him through a 4-5 week intense training block to build his fitness up which in their opinion, would have set him up far better for the year then what actually transpired. This has nothing to being isolated or left out. He was well supported by everyone at the club including the coaches. The club got it wrong in this instance and they've acknowledged it.- SSP contenders
Is there any word on Kentfields health? Complications of pneumonia isn't something to take lightly either.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025

On McAdam, I feel incredibly sad for him.. he's clearly worked hard over the off season and we saw glimpse of reward in that match simulation footage. I was looking forward to seeing him fit for round 1. Really thought he would have added a completely different and unpredictable element to our forward line. Unfortunately I hate to also say it but rupturing your Achilles at his age could mean the end of his career. Absolute [censored] of a thing come back from when you're trying to integrate back into sport full time.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025

You've taken a guess here based off no facts whatsoever lol.. and you reckon I'm spinning it? Clarry would have felt just as supported playing at Casey for a number of weeks without all the pressure and scrutiny from the media with the focus of getting his fitness levels up scratch. Our welfare and off field support is one of the best in the business in my opinion. They would have/looked after him just fine. If he was getting game based on the merit that he needed to not feel left out or isolated then you'd have 10 blokes lining up at Goodwins office demanding a game based off this excuse. Look at the way the club treated Jake Melksham and Charlie Spargo in keeping them connected to the playing by giving then a role on the bench on game days whilst dealing with their injuries. The point of my argument is that it doesn't matter if you're a seasoned pro or not. If you miss a number of weeks in pre season, especially match simulations, then it's going to take some time in getting up to match fitness conditioning. Viney still should be fine as he completely majority of the work until last week but Petracca will take a while to get going because he hasn't fully trained since the second week of January. Take into account that he hasn't played a game of footy since June last year. We are not going to see him at his optimum level probably until well into the season. I stated this in the 'Are practice games worth it' thread that getting in the match conditioning into your legs makes a significant difference then your standard fitness and ball work that everyone else does during those pre season sessions.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025

I was all team Roy George but it seems Jai Culley is one who's been the most impressive out of the train ons.- Kozzy Homesick & Wants to Leave?

No i am, you're just living in a sense of denial. Even @Dannyz who has one of the best sources at the club has confirmed that he's super intent in joining Freo. I take his word for it.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025
