How would we miss May if we had taken Hogan back at the end of 2020?

I reckon Max Gawn had a pretty big say in us making the grand final back in 2021.

He was, but Hogan was also making good impact for GWS in the back half of that year and around finals. Ita sliding doors for sure but the team was absolutely humming from all lines that I think either player would have done well regardless. And this response of someone who is in denial or self-justification.

We informed Hogan's management of our desire not to go ahead. Brown came to the club with ongoing knee issues as well.

I loved Hoges, still do. We had the opportunity to take him back at the end of 2020 and set up a meeting him and his manager. After the meeting said thanks but no thanks and then that's when we went after Ben Brown. If he is wanting to go to Freo purely to play with a bunch of mates then that's a [censored] excuse and should be held until his contract finishes.

What on earth does flinching have to do with whether he can play as an inside mid or not? Bizarre take. You don't just throw a skinny outside kid straight into coalface when we've got the experience and bigger bodies to do that. Why the need to break him so early.. Let him continue to develope on the outside. His speed and rebound off half back will be critical this year and once he's had a few pre seasons in the gym and builds his fitness up then throw him in if need. He benefits the team already in his own way with his outside speed and run. Leave him there.

This is how I'm half looking at it as well. I think they really want to utilise Sharps elite endurance and turn him into another Ed Langdon.
