  1. U didnt like the way Jefferson found separation, first in a long kick to a pack as he read the drop of the ball well before his defender, or when he read that Langford was swinging on to his left and slipped his man to create an uncontested mark on a lead. Finding separation is half the battle and it seems he has that ability.
  2. For sure. But that doesnt stop the fact Freo drafting him for free IF indeed a way of luring Kozi is a very savvy bit of recruiting. Plenty of list cloggers and he is far from the worst. Based on last year they currently hold pick 9. Pre-emptive death ride. Saddle up.
  3. Statistically their season was very similar to mfc last year. Struggle in centre bounce clearances, low inside 50s, moving the ball etc. Defense held up, strong ruckman. Their midfield is pushing against 30 also. Their kids are decent. Darcy Wilson, Wanganeen, Owens. They beat Sydney, Geelong, Carlton in the last 8 weeks of the season (6-2). They've had a bad preseason with injuries otherwise they would be a smoky this year at $5.50 to make the eight. There's always a few.
  4. Do people want to watch more live football or less? With a 19th and potentially 20th team, the scheduling is going to be nuts to watch them without overlaps. Simply has to be more 5 and 6 day breaks if there's thursday night to sunday games, mixed with some midweeks. Surely a 10 percent reduction in a game length doesnt really affect the quality of and flow of an individual game (ever cared if a quarter lasted 27 or 30 minutes?) but it would def help the players recover and sustain through a full season of 5 and 6 day breaks. Although the extra bye has helped it does kill the nomentum of a season imo
  5. Viney agreed. Petracca, hope not. Seems to be in amazing condition, want on the ball as much as possible getting 3 brownlow votes. Speakiing of head to heads, Turner or JVR for more goals 🤔 Disco for mine. Marks per game very solid for a first year forward, (essentially thrown up forward last year without a full preseason i believe). Hopeful for a break out year
  6. Turnovers will be the single biggest issue this year. 2021 - 6th worst 2022 - 10th worst 2023 - 1st worst 2024 - 3rd worst If we play a fast transition game and are in the worst 6 for turnover we will have the same result as this year. Its not like they havent been training skills and kicking their entire lives. Some good games, some cringe worthy games. So imo, its not just a matter of who's playing and fit (though that will help) the game plan needs to get uncontested ball into the hands of our better kicks. That means less of some players running past asking for a handball receive amd more of some others.

Your height changes over the course of a day due to gravity and its effect on the vetebrates in your spine. If he's exactly 200cm in the morning he will be less than 200 cm for night games!
  8. Lindsay Gilbee vibes, who was a fantastic kick off half back for the doggies for 200 games.

Probably on my own here but im desperately hoping we find a way to get back in the later rounds of this draft. If this is indeed a 'super draft', yes then you can throw a blanket over the top half dozen players but the depth of the whole draft year may well be whats remembered. The 2001 super draft had mitchell (36), montagna (37), medhurst (56), swan (58), lake (71). 23 years later, if this is THE generational draft, there is going to be so many solid players in rounds 2 to 4 that will form the depth and backbone for many clubs in the years ahead. My fear is we will be sitting and watching but lets see. (Yes yes, every years draft is a super draft)

Fair points, but of all the possible ways to handle this, pushing him out at his lowest value in a fire sale is embarrassing

So in summary. Clarry been a problem child since day 1. Club tolerated his behaviour because of his ability MFC, with the full information set and endorsement of the board, gave him a monster contract Decided in year 8 of his career, standards are standards. Enough is enough! Some sort of three strikes and yer out rule. Clarry, being a human being, found it very hard to change his hard wired behaviour. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise. Ok, yer out! And take your contract with you. We'll take pick 18. Go home MFC, you're drunk.

With potential relief from Brayshaw and ANB leaving the club probably already has a fair bit of room in the years ahead. Adding 1.3mln to the pool is great and all but only if we think we can grab a player that will make a huge difference for a flag. But the club doesnt seem to be a destination right now. Otherwise we'll end up just overpaying the current players which is not a great scenario either. We can afford to pay 300k or 400k of his salary for an extra future first or second in my opinion.
  13. Will be mfc interim coach by round 8 the way things are going.
  14. Of course he's right on FS. The solution is so simple. Instead of getting a 20 percent discount on FS players you should be paying a 20 percent premium to get access to that player. For a number 1 pick that equates to a late 2nd rounder. If he's a 2nd rounder then you're 'only' paying a 4th rounder, so it would help elite talent be 'paid for' appropriately.
