  1. https://www.theage.com.au/business/companies/foxtel-s-new-owner-welcomes-saudi-dollars-in-deal-20250218-p5ld8e.html Wow What What, you weren't joking
  2. What what I don't think I'm allowed say What What I really think about billionaire oligarchs ruining our world. And having suffered under their coercion it's safe to say most people with Irish origins don't love monarchies of any variety, British, Saudi or otherwise. It will be a happy day for me when this becomes a republic without the butcher's apron in the corner of the flag. Sorry (Ducking my head back behind the parapet). I love just about everything else here, but don't feel that it represents me or probably plenty of others either.
  3. We're all mugs and suffering from decades of the privatisation agenda. I'm paying somewhere around $600 for redlegs, which is okay because it's supporting the club. Then add on two playing memberships for junior afl and auskick, again not too bad because they're playing and supporting the game and it's future. The real rip off is kayo, with price increases for no added value. The only other thing I watch is F1 highlights. So I cancel after the footy season. We used to be able to get some discounts offered by Telstra, but they seem to have stopped. If you want to do it legally and rely on a tolerable quality and semi reliable feed then it'll end up being more than $320 for the 8 months so more than a grand a year base commitment to footy. The biggest bugbear though is supporting Murdoch as his vile agenda is responsible for Brexit, Trump and all sorts of regressive, divisive nastiness like climate denial. As soon as there's another way I'll happily leave Kayo forever.
  4. Frank, he hasn't achieved his potential with us yet and now he might never play again. Lots of our players have come good after disappointing starts and some return to their best after bad spells. I thought he was about to come good this year. None of us had any foreknowledge of Shane's Achilles rupturing on the verge of what looked like a promising season. Now all that time and effort from him and all his support and coaching staff might have been for nought. I think it's fair enough that you can feel disappointed in his output to date, but it's not his fault he's had a sudden catastrophic injury. So even though he hasn't turned out to be another fairytale recruit like a Fritta or a Harmesey, I don't think it's fair to disparage him, especially not in the immediate aftermath. He's a Demon. Now he's a Demon with a long term injury, but he's still a Demon and deserves a bit more compassion and human decency, like you'd hope to receive if your career was cut short in an instant.
  5. As much as we might have been disappointed with Shane McAdam, I'd say he was more disappointed with himself at underperforming. It looked like he took that as inspiration to work hard and get better, so much so he was playing in the probables and could have had a really good season. The poor lad might be facing the end of his career or at the very least a long hard road back. If he or any of his team mates do read this, then know that most (probably nearly all) of us are really disappointed for him and feel sickened at his misfortune. Most of us have enough humanity and empathy to commiserate with him and wish him well with his recovery.

Come on everyone, it's like what you tell your kids about fools and bullies in School, just ignore them. It seems like everyone in the media hates us and wants us to fail and keep struggling. This article is so moronic it can only be intended to rile us up and cause division amongst supporters. There may even be an ulterior motive of trying to interfere with our Caulfield plans. He probably wants us out sooner so the dirtbirds can swoop in and take over gosch's paddock. The good thing about his advice is that it was free. People don't value things they get for free and in this case it's justified. Idiotic article. Let's consign it to to the recycling bin and treat his future articles with the contempt they deserve.
  7. Thanks Demon spurs. The problems I had weren't in Redlegs because the MCC staff seem to check everyone's membership card on entry. It was down in M53 which was sold as a Melbourne members area but was never controlled and was just a de facto general admission area. If there's nobody checking tickets at the entrance then opposition fans could justifiably feel entitled to sit there.
  8. I've just gritted my teeth and renewed Redlegs. It's the classic triumph of optimism over experience. It's a new season and all victories are theoretically possible! I asked to move bays to be closer to some friends and away from two of the most negative fans I've ever met who sat behind me. They spoiled what little enjoyment was to be had from last season with relentless sour comments and whinging. Most games I had to move seats by half time. Whoever you two fellas are you need to lighten up. I had gone up to Redlegs after 2023 as the supposed Melbourne zone I was in near the 50arc was full of horrible and aggressive oppo fans occupying our seats. In the middle of that season I had enough when three Carlton fans on general admission kept kicking my seat, spilling beer and taking photos as they were trying to goad me into fighting them. It was free for all riff raff to stroll in and sit wherever they wanted and pointless paying extra for what was effectively general admission.
  9. I like his strength, determination and aggression. Take a deep breath, follow a set shot routine and I think he can be a dangerous attacking force for us
  10. Not like the Gassy Burp, lingering around like a bad smell
  11. Jones used to hack it forward a fair bit too, but there's no disputing his dedication and contribution to culture. The commentary is so annoying and I find good voices like Daisy get a bit lost amongst the loud mouth clowns like the Bossy Third and Smarmy Dermie and buzz killer Kelly. Nathan always seemed too reserved in his commentary and happy to let the foolish voices dominate
  12. I'm glad we tried him up front, but I fear he's lost confidence playing that role. He was really good in defence and I hope he gets moved back there and finds his form and Demon spirit

Entschildingung bitte, eh... Is this not Austria? I think I might be in the wrong place?
