  1. We'll be there too. Should be a good WA demon turnout as normal. It will be nice to have a ruck this game, unlike at Optus last year.
  2. Feel bad for AMW and he was looking good, after a good end to last year. No for Jai to take his chances. As for the AFL a sensible decision, but like others if a Carlton player was not injured, would they have made the same decision. I think it was helped that the SSP closedown on Friday. I read the AFL clubs bought it forward as a request, but maybe there will be an exception for major injuries during the preseason matches to top up. Would have been helpful for when Gus retired.

Culley is the obvious choice, good track record and effort in what was a poor team to try and work within.
  4. Nice, it's on Kayo 8am Perth time. Happy to get to the preseason game against Freo here in WA just before the season starts. Hopefully the clubs also does some activities for young wa supporters while they are here for it.

Maybe they were all inspired by Clarkson's farm....

Never seen him play, but reports through demonland haven't been great. I guess it says more about the lions development programs. If you get drafted you have the talent or physical attributes, but development is the key. Hopefully another preseason will fix some of his gaps and we may see him in the firsts.
  7. Just hope she's fully fit for the season. Unlikely with the shoulder this year.
  8. Missed the Gay in the backline as she is a consistent performer and was really missed. Eliza didn't fit into our fot structure, we couldn't see the injuries. As for Birch, she seems to be the type of player that can't stay at a club long for whatever reason? Her last year for us was not very good compared to the previous years and it made sense to let her go, since she wanted out. Was she the difference in them winning a flag, unlikely, as she went into a settled she, like she did with us. In the end she got another medal with her teammates. At the same time the pool is players is really small in the AFLW, so good players will get offers from rival clubs to move to a higher tier in pay.
  9. Yes, those state only based drafts really setup up the crows and lions to start with. With the increase in pay in makes sense will not have to move to any club on the draft.
  10. Depend on his role as a forward. He's a great contested mark. Was his role to be the link and take those marks and feed it forward to the other forwards in a system. Or primarily to kick goals as the measure of success. The problem was his lack of fitness in 2024 to play forward really effectively. Happy with him to go back as well, a handy swingman.
  11. That's is what matters to bring him to our club.
  12. Does he look like he's enjoying training with the boys.
  13. I did state after the GF that it was most likely a time to change at the Swans. Longmire couldn't get them over that final line. 15 years with a consistent record (Yes their special academy helps) shows he can build a good culture and team. It will be interesting to see how much Cox changes how they play or as heir apparent will stick with the same model.
  14. Nah, easier to turn the list over with a couple of quality top picks.
  15. What our next pick if we are going to use it? 75 - looked it up.... wonder if we'll use it.
