  1. So Zero Hanger reporting we've signed Jai Culley.
  2. That's a bloody good team. 👏
  3. I guess we could have a clear conversation with Culley (if he's the man) and say you're onto the list in the mid season draft. Then we can put him on a program and have him ready to go by mid year. Only problem is playing time. Maybe we sign him for Casey in the meantime, so we get him into the program?
  4. 10.11.71 to 18.9.117. So really close and worth gnashing our teeth over...
  5. Watched the game this morning and was really happy with the performance. North looked ordinary, but our ball movement and spread of goalkickers was very 2018. I've been banging on this Chaplin drum for a while. He is brilliant and whichever line we send him to, his group elevates itself. Anyway, so really happy with the very solid performance, particularly without our best winger, our leading goalkicker over the last half decade, our x7 AA captain and our Norm Smith medallist to name a few. And I get on here and start reading the thread and you would think we were being belted. Good old Demonland. Proving that we have just as many nuffies as any other supporter group.
  6. How can the club not get its act together with the website? Socials have absolutely improved this year, but we have an older supporter base, who are much more likely to use the website to seek information. We need to do so much better.
  7. People place far too much value on draft picks. I would understand it more if it was a top 5 or even top 10 pick being discussed, but people whinging about wasting pick 28 are whinging for the sake of whinging.
  8. Sounds like the 2017-2018 press. I assume we still play the anchor and press high up and play a territory game?
  9. Year 6 disco banger, or maybe that should be boomer?
  10. I was going to go and then completely forgot. 🤣
  11. He was part of the board that lost its way. I think it's completely fair to question him. People can make mistakes, and he seems to have done well since the Gutnick meeting, but it's a watch this space as far as I'm concerned.
  12. Brad Green came onto the board and then almost immediately, we had 3 presidents in a very short amount of time. He might have steadied the ship, but he helped send it off course in the first place.
  13. I think 2019 was different in that we seemed to constantly change all year. We seemed to be adjusting our zone every game, and IMO I think we relied heavily on the 2018 game plan that season. (reliance on winning stoppage for scores and an inability to defend stoppage going the other way) I know it's splitting hairs a bit, but IMV, 2024 is much more akin to 2020, where we had some success with the new game plan, but lacked, as you say, the fitness and mindset to implement it across 4 quarters, week to week until 2021. 2020 was a more defensive contested style than the transition game we played at the top of last season. The biggest sign of success was the Geelong win, the highlight of the season for me. If we can find a balance between slingshot transition and protecting our defence (ie not losing too many stoppages), which we struggled with in the first half of last year, we could be a different team.
  14. It's a significant list / best 22 shift in 2 years isn't it? None played in the team that finished top 4 three years running. I think the first three will undoubtedly make us better when they get used to the level. And Sharp looks a good replacement for ANB, Brown looks likely IMO, and there's no doubting (although I'm not entirely sold on him) that Kolt brings great energy across half forward.
