We likely just did the rounds a little bit I think. This year they scrapped the compulsory meetings between clubs on day 1 which meant every club had to meet at some stage, so we might have done a mini version of that just to do our due diligence.

Definitely a fairer deal. I just wonder, with the way GWS have built themselves and the success of the Doggies, if draft picks have become even more valuable for a club basically rebuilding from scratch?

They don't need us for that. Dunn is worth a 4th rounder at best, can't see us getting pick 30 for him from anyone. I like the second half though, think it's highly probable Mahoney will use the points/picks situation again.

So basically Brisbane are giving up pick 30 for Dunn? Yeah don't think so.

Doubt it. More likely we're trying to even out our drafts given we have no first rounder this year. A second round pick this year and a first round pick next year is more balanced than both next year and nothing until the third round this year. (This is of course excluding us trading picks for picks which is a high possibility IMO)

Does he mean Smith upgraded to senior list or to main rookie list? Also, Michie... FML.

You got a connection there Rosella lad? You seem to talk about Jones a lot

I understand the comments about ANB's weaknesses etc, but I don't understand the mentality around wanting to trade or delist someone because they're not "best 22". That's a heck of a lot of players we're going to be getting rid of it that was the case. Reality is we need depth players, we have a salary cap, he's 20 and has shown enough to work with. Heard from very reliable sources he understands his place in the pecking order and is working really hard to improve his game. Deserves more credit, especially seeing he finished 5th in the Liston after playing in a new position this year. Bit of patience required I think, it's called "development" for a reason.

Wasn't exactly a master stroke of motivation was it?!

Yeah you'd think most players would either know through the year so they can gauge interest elsewhere or they've been around long enough to read the signs. Just don't think anything official will be done until they've had a chance to decompress. Would have noticed how badly Brisbane (was it them, can't recall exactly?) did it by letting players now on the Monday after their season ended.

They'll surely let the players have a mad Monday first before doing any of that so I would guess end of the week.

Yeah true, and Goodwin is likely to continue Roos' mantra of everyone being versatile like that.

I reckon Melksham is more likely to play a bit of mid/wing, but that's just my opinion. Plus, having him allows someone like Salem or Hunt to play further up.

Good insight here. Sounds like Milkshake was pretty integral in winning him over. http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/why-michael-hibberd-chose-the-melbourne-demons-as-the-club-he-wants-to-be-traded-to/news-story/20fd9e1da7c2979a73e8de3b963c947a

For the record, the actual argument was that we were 3rd in line behind Hawthorn and Geelong as far as being a "destination club" goes.

There was talk about something to do with all that being the reason he was put on the LTI at the end of the year.

Was the first player to buy in to the play on game plan when he had little to no backup and stuck to coaches instructions despite it being to the detriment of his own game. Not what I'd call soft.

How'd he seem Saty? Positive about next year?

Which is exactly what we want. How many gun ruckmen are going to stick around and be happy to play 0 games because they're behind our AA ruckman? FMD.

Fair enough, going by memory and thought that was about the time he missed due to injury.
