  1. The GP is more likely to affect traffic on the MI freeway than to MCG. From Lakes Entrance, consider street parking in Richmond at the Yarra River end and catching a tram up Bridge Rd or Swan Street. Vehicle traffic on those streets is slow. Not many side streets there will have restricted parking. Trams run every 10 minutes or so. Any tram on those streets will go to the G on the way to Flinders St Station. But you'll need MYKI cards to travel on trams/trains (or the MYKI app). The streets in the above map are 15-30 min walk to the G. There are paid parking stations a short walk to the G but more expensive than MYKI travel. Depending on where accommodation is you could catch a train (using MyKi), Btw, the M1 freeway has tolls so if using it. will need day pass(es). Happy to provide more info.
  2. Bays on the wing are reserved for MCC, AFL or MFC members. The General Admission bays currently available near the wing are M54 and M12 on the 50m arc. They are in the Demon fan areas so you'll be among friends. If you get tickets there you can cross to empty seats on the wing as I doubt all MFC members there will turn up. You will have a better experience in M54 as its closer to the Dees supporting MCC whereas M12 is close to what will be empty AFL member areas. Your kids might enjoy sitting with the Demon Army in M4, behind the goals. If so @Ghostwriter can provide info on those tickets. Also, sometimes M5 is quietly 'reserved' for MFC fans and can feel part of the DA and not risk being blinded/blocked by banners etc. Again @Ghostwriter might be able to advise. Hope you all have a great day! ps had a laugh at the autocorrect in your first post of 'boy' to 'bot' for the 'bored youngster'! AI seems to know everything!!
  3. Semi relevant to the above. Quote from President's recent email: I’m also delighted to inform you about a new community partnership we’ve formed with the  House of Darwin Foundation, in conjunction with our  Jim Stynes Foundation. This exciting initiative – known as “Hoop Dreams” will see us rejuvenate the local basketball court in Nyirripi, home to the Nyirripi Demons, some 460 kilometres out of Alice Springs. More than just a playing surface, this court is a central gathering spot for the community and refurbishing it will offer fresh opportunities for wellbeing and connection. Even more special, its mural design will feature on our  2026 Indigenous Guernsey, bringing the spirit of Nyirripi to the MCG. With Jack Viney and Kate Hore championing this cause, we’re reaffirming our long-standing dedication to the Northern Territory – and paying forward Jim’s legacy – by empowering young people and strengthening cultural ties through the power of sport.
  4. HaHa! 🤔 The cottage is old but not moi! Looks like ladies day in the vicinity of Middle Park! What a time to not be alive!
  5. Many thanks layzie. Hope yours is fab. I'm back on DL now that the season is close ... will be a very good year for the mighty dees ❤️💙
  6. Has the picture on the right been photoshopped? If not his nickname should be dimples !!!!
  7. Correct. Until just a few years ago I owned a cottage on Beach Rd Sandringham. On researching its history it was built in the late 1800's and was originally someone's holiday house. As @Rab D Nesbitt said Sandringham and surrounds were the Portsea of its day where those of East Melbourne would train it to Sandy. It is why that train line was built; the Sandy station is the end of the line. Sandy, Hampton and Brighton Beach stations are opposite the beach but other stations needed horse and buggy to get to the beach.
  8. @Demonland Is the Site update the reason some historical pages of a poster have dropped off. I've looked at mine, Andy, WJ, binman and Redleg and the last page is years after they joined and doesn't match the number of posts on their profiles. Last time I looked at all pages/posts were there from year dot. Also, the number of posts against a user's name on their thread posts is grossly inflated - number of posts on their profiles look right.
  9. Start tonight. Cats vs Bombers @ Kitty Park. On Kayo and Foxtel ... Anyone tuning in?
  10. Yes. Our overall 'Allowed' list size goes from 44 to 46 for this year only where we will have 8 Cat A rookies instead of 6. Note: we still have a Cat B vacancy so all up the current list size is 45. McAdam and AM-W keep their current status and are counted accordingly. At the end of the year, SSP players can be promoted to Primary list, remain Cat A or delisted.
  11. A fabulous development for indigenous pathways and football in NT. 57m-donation-to-central-australian-footy-program "The Redtails Pinktails Right Tracks Program offers mentoring for young people and has opened a pathway for talented athletes to play professionally in the Northern Territory and South Australian football leagues". "Club president and organiser of the Right Tracks program Rob Clarke said it was a "jackpot" donation for the community, which will continue the program's work and help improve the lives of local young people". "Mr Clarke said they hoped to use the funds to build a "home" for the Redtails Pinktails, and to broaden their Right Tracks program to include more sporting codes...He said they were eyeing off Traeger Park in Alice Springs as a potential site for the facility, which they hoped would also provide accommodation for travelling sporting teams and schools". "We want to partner with … any organisation that has the same mindset, who wants to achieve great things for our region." As Traegar Park is a Home ground for us and the club has invested greatly in its development and committment to playing there long term, I hope MFC is in on this. It would be a real shame if another club especially from SA, jumps on the bandwagon. I particularly like the 'Right Tracks' program as it shares the values Jimmy created in the Reach Foundation. Reckon he would be mighty proud of mfc's connection with such a program as he invested a lot of TLC in indigenous players. Hopefully Alice remains our NGA zone... Now if the AFL are serious about more indigenous players into the AFL they need to stand up and support this program.
  12. The chat about pick 28 for McAdam is but a small part of the picture. Big picture: We had him free of charge for 2024 as we traded a F2 which turned out to be #28. If we made 2024 finals as expected F2 would have been #34 or higher. We got #28 back for ANB then traded it to Ess as part of the #9 trade. Because of all the comp/FS/Academy picks it became #37 for Ess. Sad, not sad! So it would be true to say the F2 we traded for McAdam was in fact 37. #28 was an important part of the Ess #9 trade, without it we would not have #9 and not have XL. It is really unfortunate what has happened to McAdam but he doesn't have any say in the trade currency so maybe we just let it go. We got the pick back and JT was never going to take a late 2nd round pick to the draft.
  13. The answer was all players were drafted at #13. Chris Scott was drafted at #12. Thanks for playing everyone!
  14. Another correct answer by @tilly18 earning Australia Day honours.
  15. Another correct winner! No prizes left but Australia Day honours are in order for @demosaw Edit: On reflection @demosaw deserves a prize as he correctly identified why C Scott didn't quite fit the criteria ... something I failed to ask of other prizewinners. Being Australia Day and am in a magnanimous mood their prizes will remain.
  16. I'm assuming these questions relate to signing Roy George as an SSP. As I understand it if a player goes onto the LTI and the list spot is filled by a 'new' player via the SSP or mid-season draft the LTI cannot return to play in the season. I don't think there is anything that says that 'new' player is to be delisted - he can be offered a contract eg Luke Kentfield replacing Gus. Regarding Spargo, I think his injury was in 2023 and he missed all of 2024 with an archilles issue. imv Charlie deserves the chance to play for his spot and a new contract as he is OOC this year. The club played him in round 1 2024 on no preseason risking more injury. I've mentioned elsewhere, if we wanted George we should have kept a list spot for him; we knew his talents as he played for Casey. I would love to seem him signed on but if there is no list spot it is our own fault.
  17. No new answers forthcoming so unlike the cryptic clues in a few of my posts above, here is a real clue: lucky for some, unlucky for others!
  18. All prizes are gone. As indicated this quiz was quite easy, too easy perhaps - didn't need to use any of the great clues I had lined up! Will leave this run for the rest of the day as I'll be out and to give others a chance to have some fun!
  19. The has been claimed by @Harvey Wallbanger! Congratulations!
  20. It will be an honour ( I think 🤔) for your friendly cuddlies to be named 'Luci. Hope the name change brings you luck!
  21. Only the 3rd prize left and no clues needed so far!
  22. The second prize goes to a regular to finish on the podium: @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew Well done!
  23. I figured that as my comment didn't give you anything at all 😀
  24. It isn't as obscure as some 'football related' clues of the past 🤷‍♀️😉
  25. The 1st prize memento goes to @demon-4-life Quite an achievement to beat The Master. Well done!
